NO. 511. DR. T. SUMATHY (a) THAMIZHACHI THANGAPANDIAN:
Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of projects under the Smart Cities Mission
which have been completed as of June, 2021, and the details of
targets set and achievements/ progress made under the Mission
so far;
(b) the total number of projects for which work orders have been
issued as of June, 2021, and the number of cities converted into
smart cities so far;
(c) the quantum of funds allocated, released and spent as of
June,2021 out of the total commitment made by the Centre to
spend Rs 48000 crore over a period of five years;
(d) whether the Government intends to meet its stated deadline of
completion of projects for the first round of cities selected under
the Smart Cities Mission in 2021 and if so, the details thereof and
if not, the proposed altered deadline;
(e) the impact of COVID-19 on the mission and the efforts being
made by Government to deal with the same; and
(f) the number of projects expected to benefit the most
marginalized and low-income groups and the total number of
beneficiaries from these groups, city-wise?
