Hon. Speaker, Sir, thank you for having permitted me to ask this supplementary question. Today is World Preservation Day for Marshlands. So, I would like to raise a very important issue pertaining to my constituency regarding World Preservation Day for Marshlands. I have a freshwater marshland in Pallikaranai in my South Chennai constituency which is a very
precious environmental zone in the entire South India. It has been much tampered by the dumping of Corporation’s wastes, as a result of which the water fillings in that place have not been inundated for years. Even the High Court has brought it to the notice of the authorities of the State Government to take proper action. We have given a number of petitions to the State Government. A lot of fund has been allotted but nothing concrete has been done. I have raised this issue under Rule 377 also yesterday. I would like to request the Minister concerned to take note of this and do the needful to save the freshwater marshland in my constituency.
