Will the Minister of GONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC
DISTRIBUTION be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has issued any notificat:on to the State
Governments to keep the sugar stock holding l.o 17 per cent of total
production and if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;
(b) whether the Government has received any request from the States to
provide exemption for Tamil Nadu in this regard; and
(c) the Government's stand in this regard
