Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government intends to support controlled international trade of ivory by backing Namibia’s proposal and if so, the details thereof;
(b) if not, the Government’s strategy regarding the existing ivory stockpile and the details thereof;
(c) the number of ivory reserves held by various forest departments as of today, Statewise;
(d) the amount of ivory seized from poachers/ traders and the amount of ivory extracted from dead elephants during the past 5 years, year-wise; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to protect ivory reserves and prevent pilferage?
