I know water is a State subject but I would like to bring to the notice of the hon. Minister that on June 19, 2019, Chennai city official in Tamil Nadu declared that the day zero or
the day when almost no water is left has been reached as all the four main reservoirs supplying water to the city had run dry. The Minister in his reply has stated that the Ministry of Housing and
Urban Affairs is implementing Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation, i.e., AMRUT in 500 cities with Mission components such as water supply, storm water drainage, etc.
I would like to know from the Minister whether Chennai city is included in this Mission. If so, I would like to know the details.
