SUMATHY (a) THAMIZHACHI THANGAPANDIAN: SHRI KODIKUNNIL SURESH: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware that thousands of farmers are agitating for the last two months against the new farm laws and demanding roll back of the same and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the Government is aware that a number of farmer protesters have died or fallen ill while agitating and if so, the total number of farmers died/fallen ill during the protest; (c) whether the Government proposes to give compensation to the families of the farmers who have died during the agitation and if so, the details thereof; (d) whether the Government has initiated any negotiations with the protesting farmers and if so, the number and details of meetings/negotiations held with farmers Unions and the outcome of the reconciliation efforts; (e) the details of the main demands raised by farmers organizations/Unions; (f) whether the Government is considering to look into the legitimate demands of the farmers in order to end the deadlock; and (g) whether the Government has any plan to withdraw/repeal the recently passed farm laws and if not, the reasons for not repealing the farm laws?
